Dogs of War in Winter

Just a little winter picture. My wonderfully multicultural (and multi-temporal) group of mercenaries deep in an Estonian forest, scouting. Some of them at least. From left to right are:

Bjorn – Norseman, once member of the Varagnian Guard.
Egil – Norseman, adopted son of Bjorn’s deceased friend. Just starting out. (:
Irene – one-time member of the Imperial Guard, exiled after the usurpation of John Tzimisces.
The Avar – nothing more known. He doesn’t speak.
Aelfred – Anglo-Saxon aristocrat, left Britain after the Norman Conquest.
Morholt – Irish/Northumbrian bard-turned thrall-turned mercenary.
Chlodvig – related to the Merovingian royal family. Captain of the mercenaries.
Malachi – Ex-Arian priest and Gothic “freedom-fighter”.
Kurshan – Maqyar horseman and archer. Diagnosed with a complete lack of moral backbone.
Eudoxia – North African, rumoured to be a Vandal descendant.
